More than just another choir with the same proud repertoire, Millegro offers a modern, eclectic mix of style and vitality. With an appreciation of the emotional reaction a vibrant choir instills in its audience, we have built our musical philosophy on the certain knowledge that choral singing does not have to be continually dour and serious, but must also be energetic and animated.
We cross all boundaries, unafraid to step outside religious familiarity, and embraces a rhythmic quality to match intelligent, musically aware arrangements. Classical composers may sit alongside jazz standards whilst traditional tunes are given contemporary arrangements. Current and future plans involve performances of pieces representing a true cross-section of choral possibility, including more popular compositions of recent years which are new territory for full-harmony choirs.
Millegro brings a fresh approach to singing, drawing its strength from the surrounding community, in return providing an educational experience for everyone to participate in, guided by our own experienced musicians. As an enterprise that flourishes on a supportive social circle, Millegro provides an honest outlet for those looking for artistic expression, through the simple joy of singing.
